kithinks.de went live today. KI.THINKS is the AI lab of NET.THINKS: consulting, training and AI concepts for companies in the Schwarzwald-Baar district in south-west Germany. This article explains why we set up a brand of its own, what you get there and what you can try out on the website yourself. The site and its tools are in German.

Why an AI lab of its own?
Artificial intelligence did not reach us as a buzzword but as a tool in projects: in our TYPO3 accessibility extension, which works with Claude, OpenAI or locally with Ollama, in translations, in alternative texts for images and in our own development work. Over time we were asked more and more questions that had nothing to do with a website: Where is AI worth it in our company at all? What may our staff type into ChatGPT? Does the data have to go to the USA for that?
These questions do not fit into the offering of a web agency. That is why they now have an address of their own: KI.THINKS, the AI lab for the Schwarzwald-Baar district.
What KI.THINKS offers
The offering has three parts:
- AI consulting: potential analysis, AI concepts for websites and apps – such as chatbots, semantic search or content automation – and an architecture that fits your data protection requirements.
- AI training: workshops on AI basics, prompt engineering for everyday work and visibility in AI search engines (GEO). On site or remote, with a maximum of twelve participants.
- AI lab: tools and live demos that run in the browser. What we recommend, you can try there yourself.
We advise and train throughout the Schwarzwald-Baar district, preferably in person at your company or at our office in Villingen-Schwenningen.
The starting point: the AI potential analysis
“We really ought to do something with AI” – the sentence comes up in many companies, and afterwards often either nothing happens or tools are bought that nobody uses three months later. The AI potential analysis starts before that point. It costs €1,490 net as a fixed price and has four steps:
- Process screening: a half-day workshop at your premises in which we go through your core processes – from preparing quotations to customer service.
- Quick-win analysis: the three to five use cases with the best ratio of effort to benefit.
- Data protection check: for each use case, the question of what may go into the cloud and what has to stay local.
- Roadmap and report: a prioritised plan with cost estimates for the next twelve months.
It usually takes two weeks from the workshop to the report. The report is written so that you can implement it with us or with any other service provider.
The lab: try it instead of taking our word for it
Consulting without practice of one’s own is retelling. The lab therefore contains tools that we built ourselves and that you can test without registering:
- AI assistant: the chat at the bottom right of kithinks.de answers questions about services, prices and training, based on the content of the website.
- GEO quick check: enter an address and see how well a website is prepared for AI search engines.
- Alt text generator: upload an image and receive an alternative text and an image description.
- WCAG audit with AI: a quick test of nine accessibility criteria with an AI assessment of alternative texts, link texts and structure.
You may already know the technology behind the alt text generator and the audit: it is also part of our TYPO3 extension nt-ai and runs in client projects.
Where your data is kept
The most common concern about AI is data protection. There is no blanket answer to it, but there is a choice: a German cloud, a European cloud, a US interface with a data processing agreement, or a model that runs entirely on your own hardware. Which option fits depends on the data to be processed. KI.THINKS plans the architecture around the data, not the other way round.
KI.THINKS and NET.THINKS: who does what?
The same people are behind both brands. The division of work is simple: concept, consulting and training are handled by KI.THINKS. If you want an implementation – in TYPO3, WordPress, Shopware or as custom development – NET.THINKS takes over. You are not obliged to do so: the concept belongs to you and is written to be vendor-neutral.
Nothing changes for our clients at NET.THINKS. Websites, support and hosting stay where they are.
How the website is built
kithinks.de is a reference project in itself. The pages are statically generated and need no content management system, which makes them fast. The articles in the knowledge section are written with AI support from briefings and reviewed by us. The website is also designed to be found and cited by AI search engines such as ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity – the subject we teach in the GEO workshop.
Conclusion
KI.THINKS bundles the AI practice that has grown at NET.THINKS over the past years into an offering of its own for companies in the region. If you would like to know what part of it suits your business: the initial consultation takes 30 minutes, is free of charge and without obligation.
Would you like to know where AI brings measurable benefit in your company? In a free initial consultation we show you the tools from the lab and clarify which of them suit your business.
